Current status: Valid as Maylandia melissa (Stauffer & Konings 2023). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: East Central Africa: Chitande Island, Chilumba Bay, Katale Island and Chirwa Island, Lake Malaŵi, Malaŵi. Habitat: freshwater.
