melenicus, Oxynoemacheilus Turan [D.], Aksu [S.] & Kalayci [G.] 2023:447, Figs. 11-12 [Zoosystematics and Evolution v. 99 (no. 2); ref. 40533] Stream Yarılgan at Gemiç Village, Eskişehir Province, Turkey, 39.343°N, 30.463°E. Holotype: FFR 15627. Paratypes: FFR. •Valid as Oxynoemacheilus melenicus Turan, Aksu & Kalayci 2023 -- (Çiçek et al. 2023:351 [ref. 40625]). •Possible synonym of Oxynoemacheilus simavicus (Balik & Bănărescu 1978) -- (Freyhof & Jouladeh-Roudbar 2024:179 [ref. 40751], Çiçek et al. 2024:84 [ref. 40789]). Current status: Valid as Oxynoemacheilus melenicus Turan, Aksu & Kalayci 2023. Nemacheilidae. Distribution: Asia Minor: Büyükmelen Stream and Sakarya River drainage, western Anatolia (Turkey). Habitat: freshwater.
