Holotype: MZUSP 129605. Paratypes: LBP, LIRP, MCP, MNRJ, MZUSP. Plus additional non-type material. •Valid as Polymixia carmenae Caixeta, Oliveira & Melo 2024 -- (Fan et al. 2024:116 [ref. 41705], Koerber & Fricke 2024:35 [ref. 41785]). Current status: Valid as Polymixia carmenae Caixeta, Oliveira & Melo 2024. Polymixiidae. Distribution: Southwestern Atlantic: upper continental slope, Bahia to Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil and Uruguay). Habitat: marine.
