Current status: Valid as Polymixia carmenae Caixeta, Oliveira & Melo 2024. Polymixiidae. Distribution: Western South Atlantic: upper continental slope, Bahia to Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil and Uruguay. Habitat: marine.
