Holotype: JFBM 50003. Paratypes: (320) JFBM, NCSM, UF. •Valid as Aphredoderus ornatus Muller & Simons 2024 -- (Muller et al. 2025:24 [ref. 42314], Schmitter-Soto et al. 2025:suppl. Tab. 1, p. 15 [ref. 42574]). Current status: Valid as Aphredoderus ornatus Muller & Simons 2024. Aphredoderidae. Distribution: North America: Atlantic slope, Potomac River in Virginia and Maryland, south to the Saint Mary’s River in Florida (U.S.A.). IUCN (2025): Not Assessed. Habitat: freshwater.
