Holotype: JFBM 50272. Paratypes: (79) JFBM, NCSM, UAIC, UF. •Valid as Aphredoderus retrodorsalis Muller & Simons 2024 -- (Muller et al. 2025:26 [ref. 42314], Schmitter-Soto et al. 2025:suppl. Tab. 1, p. 15 [ref. 42574]). Current status: Valid as Aphredoderus retrodorsalis Muller & Simons 2024. Aphredoderidae. Distribution: North America: Gulf of Mexico drainages in Florida and Alabama from the Blackwater River to the Suwannee-Santa Fe River system; Atlantic slope from the Saint Johns River north to the Ogeechee River in Georgia (U.S.A.). IUCN (2025): Not Assessed. Habitat: freshwater.
