Holotype: ANSP 198473. Paratypes: ANSP, MBUCV. Plus additional non-type material. •Valid as Loricaria thomasi Provenzano & Sabaj 2024. Current status: Valid as Loricaria thomasi Provenzano & Sabaj 2024. Loricariidae: Loricariinae. Distribution: South America: large whitewater river channels draining the Colombian and Venezuelan Llanos, middle Orinoco River basin, Venezuela and Colombia. Habitat: freshwater.
