Current status: Valid as Ctenogobius thoropsis (Pezold & Gilbert 1987). Oxudercidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: Suriname to the mouth of the Amazon (Brazil). Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
