Holotype: BMNH 1995.4.19.31. Paratype: BMNH 1995.3.29.1 (1) and referred specimen BMNH 1996.3.8.2 (female gonads). •Valid as Ilyophis maclainei Tighe, Smith & Merrett 2024 -- (Straube et al. 2026:5 [ref. 42888] as Ilyophis cf. maclainei). Current status: Valid as Ilyophis maclainei Tighe, Smith & Merrett 2024. Synaphobranchidae: Ilyophinae. Distribution: Northeastern Atlantic: off southwest Ireland; ?Southern Ocean: Antarctica. Habitat: marine.
