Holotype: UAIC 11065.05. Paratypes: AUM, UAIC, UF. •Valid as Etheostoma michellae Mayden 2025 -- (Brownstein et al. 2025:5 [ref. 42098], Schmitter-Soto et al. 2025:suppl. Tab. 1, p. 37 [ref. 42574]). Current status: Valid as Etheostoma michellae Mayden 2025. Percidae: Etheostomatinae. Distribution: North America: upper Sipsey Fork drainage, Black Warrior River basin, Alabama (U.S.A.). IUCN (2025): Not Assessed. Habitat: freshwater.
