Holotype: KAUM-I 68986. Paratypes: (61) ANSP, BMNH, BPBM, CAS, KAUM-I, LACM, USNM. •Valid as Thrissina mystica Hata, Lavoué & Motomura 2025 -- (Freyhof et al. 2025:74 [ref. 42718], Hata et al. 2026:9 [ref. 43332]). •Valid as Thryssa mystica (Hata, Lavoué & Motomura 2025) -- (Moazzam & Osmany 2026:463 [ref. 43324]). Current status: Valid as Thryssa mystica (Hata, Lavoué & Motomura 2025). Engraulidae: Coiliinae. Distribution: Northern Indian Ocean: Persian Gulf, Kuwait, Arabian Sea to southern India and Sri Lanka. IUCN (2026): Not Assessed. Habitat: marine.
