Paratypes: HUMZ 77854 (1), 92153 (1), 92535 (1), 92556 (1), 92608 (1), 92770 (1), 92771 (1), 93836-40 (5, 1 missing), 97291 (1), 98567 (1), 98613 (1), 98680 (1), 98992 (1), 98994 (1), 99073-74 (1, 1); NSMT-P 23889-93 (1, 1, 1, 1, 1). •Valid as Stichaeus fuscus Miki & Maruyama 1986 -- (Lavrova 1990:52 [ref. 20302], Nakabo 2000:1048 [ref. 25182], Nakabo 2002:1048 [ref. 26193], Mecklenburg & Sheiko 2004:5 [ref. 27604], Parin et al. 2014:450 [ref. 33547], Dyldin & Orlov 2021:847 [ref. 38925]). •Valid as Dinogunellus fuscus (Miki & Maruyama 1986) -- (Balanov et al. 2022:[8] [ref. 39152]). Current status: Valid as Dinogunellus fuscus (Miki & Maruyama 1986). Stichaeidae: Stichaeinae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: southern Okhotsk Sea off Hokkaido, and southern Kuril Islands to Japan Sea and Peter the Great Bay. Habitat: marine.
