Holotype: ZSI FF1861. Paratypes: ZSI FF1862 (2). •Valid as Danio assamensis Barman 1984 -- (Barman 1991:33 [ref. 22192]). •Synonym of Danio regina Fowler 1934 -- (Menon 1999:45 [ref. 24904]). •Valid as Devario assamensis (Barman 1984) -- (Fang 2001:17 [ref. 25285], Ahmed et al. 2013:285 [ref. 32872], Bleher 2018:432 [ref. 36647]). •Possibly a synonym of Devario aequipinnatus (McClelland 1839) -- (Kullander et al. 2017:31 [ref. 35685]). Current status: Uncertain as Devario aequipinnatus (McClelland 1839). Danionidae: Danioninae. Distribution: Assam and Bengal, northern India (if valid). Habitat: freshwater.
