Current status: Valid as Cichlasoma amazonarum Kullander 1983. Cichlidae: Cichlinae. Distribution: Widespread in South America: Brazil, ?Ecuador, Bolivia, Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana and Peru. Habitat: freshwater.
