Paratypes: SMF 14450 (16). •Synonym of Epiplatys olbrechtsi Poll 1941 -- (Romand in Lévêque et al. 1992:637 [ref. 21590], Seegers 1997:15 [ref. 23895]). •Synonym of Epiplatys olbrechtsi Poll 1941, but a valid subspecies -- (Wildekamp 1996:102 [ref. 23649]). •Valid as Epiplatys azureus Berkenkamp & Etzel 1983 -- (Wildekamp et al. 1986:245 [ref. 6198], Paugy et al. 1990:341 [ref. 26477] with question, Lazara 2001:100 [ref. 25711], Huber 2024:52 [ref. 41036]). Current status: Valid as Epiplatys azureus Berkenkamp & Etzel 1983. Nothobranchiidae. Distribution: West Africa: northeastern Liberia. Habitat: freshwater.
