Current status: Valid as Poropuntius carinatus (Wu & Lin 1977). Cyprinidae: Cyprininae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Mekong River basin, Laos and Yunnan (China), and upper Salween River basin, Yunnan (China). Habitat: freshwater.
