geo, Hoplolatilus Fricke [H.-W.] & Kacher [H.] 1982:247, Figs. 1-2 [Senckenbergiana Maritima v. 14 (nos 5-6); ref. 8482] Ras Nasrani, depth 80 meters; Ras um Sid near Sharm El Scheikh, depth 100-116 meters, along the Sinai coast, Sharm el Sheikh, South Sinai Governorate, Egypt, Red Sea. No types known. Observed from diving vehicle, no specimens collected; name still available. •Valid as Hoplolatilus geo Fricke & Kacher 1982 -- (Goren & Dor 1994:32 [ref. 25356], Earle & Pyle 1997:382 [ref. 22771], Allen 2007:105 [ref. 29223], Allen et al. 2010:172 [ref. 30989], Bogorodsky & Randall 2018:[5] 243 [ref. 36492], Golani & Fricke 2018:81 [ref. 36273], Dooley 2022:380 [ref. 39861]). Current status: Valid as Hoplolatilus geo Fricke & Kacher 1982. Malacanthidae. Distribution: Northern Red Sea endemic. Habitat: marine.
