Holotype (unique): MNHN 1979-0433. The original genus is correctly Chlorophthalmus. •Valid as Paraulopus brevirostris (Fourmanoir 1981) -- (Sato & Nakabo 2002:27 [ref. 25953], Sato & Nakabo 2002:394 [ref. 26686], Sato & Nakabo 2003:164 [ref. 26918], Gomon et al. 2006:461 [ref. 29050], Sato et al. 2010:57 [ref. 30892], Larson et al. 2013:45 [ref. 32988], Ng & Joung 2020:18 [ref. 37977], Gloerfelt-Tarp & Kailola 2022:79 [ref. 41223]). Current status: Valid as Paraulopus brevirostris (Fourmanoir 1981). Paraulopidae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Philippines north to Taiwan, south to Joseph Bonaparte Gulf (Western Australia) and Cape York (Queensland, Australia). Habitat: marine.
