[Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences v. 39 (no. 5); ref. 8510] Lake Cowichan, 48°52'36"N, 124°17'00"W, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada (attached to a coho salmon). Holotype: NMC 81-1219. Paratypes: NMC 81-1220 (94). Non-types (immature): NMC 81-1221 (16), 81-1222 (1). Specific name is an indeclinable noun. •Valid as Lampetra macrostoma Beamish 1982 -- (McAllister 1990:26 [ref. 14674], Page & Burr 1991:20 [ref. 18983], Scott & Crossman 1998:viii [ref. 24570], Beamish 2001:127 [ref. 25423], Nelson et al. 2004:48 [ref. 27807], Scharpf 2005:5 [ref. 28940], McPhail 2007:8 [ref. 31199]). •Valid as Entosphenus macrostoma (Beamish 1982) (often seen as macrostomus) -- (Yamazaki & Goto 2000:8 [ref. 24514], Lang et al. 2009:48 [ref. 31599], Page & Burr 2011:125 [ref. 31215], Renaud 2011:31 [ref. 31770], Page et al. 2013:48 [ref. 32708], Page et al. 2023:36 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Entosphenus macrostoma (Beamish 1982). Petromyzontidae. Distribution: Northwestern North America: Vancouver Island, British Columbia (Canada). Habitat: freshwater.
