J.] 1981:148, Fig. 4 [Journal of Fish Biology v. 18 (no. 2); ref. 8578] North side of Belmonte Islet, St Paul's Rocks, 0°56'N, 29°22'W, mid-Atlantic ridge, rocks and caves, depth 5-10 meters. Holotype: MZUSP 14616. Paratypes: BMNH 1980.1.22.21 (1), SMF 15674 (1). •Valid as Gillias smithi (Lubbock & Edwards 1981) -- (Fricke 1997:575 [ref. 23339]). •Valid as Enneanectes smithi Lubbock & Edwards 1981 -- (Smith & Williams 2002:9 [ref. 26427], Feitoza et al. 2003:69 [ref. 26943], Moura & Menezes in Menezes et al. 2003:94 [ref. 27192], Vaske et al. 2005:78 [ref. 36155], Fricke 2009:37 [ref. 30394], Patzner et al. 2009:444 [ref. 30396], Carvalho-Filho 2023:225 [ref. 40480]). Current status: Valid as Enneanectes smithi Lubbock & Edwards 1981. Tripterygiidae: Tripterygiinae. Distribution: Western-central Atlantic: St. Paul's Rocks (Saint Peter and Saint Paul Archipelago). Habitat: marine.
