Syntypes: IHASW 76-IV-5880 to 81 (2), 76-IV-6986 to 87 (2), 76-IV-7736 (1); JNU 76-IV-7742 to 47 (6). English description on p. 101. •Synonym of Beaufortia kweichowensis (Fang 1931), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Zheng 1981:57 [ref. 22557], Zheng et al. 1989:262 [ref. 21202], Zheng in Pan et al. 1991:285 [ref. 23876], Zhu 1995:135 [ref. 25213], Chen & Tang in Yue 2000:509 [ref. 25272], Tang & Chen 2000:7 [ref. 25445], Kottelat 2012:58 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2013:191 [ref. 32989], Zhang et al. 2016:157 [ref. 34477]). Current status: Synonym of Beaufortia kweichowensis (Fang 1931). Gastromyzontidae. Distribution: Dongjiang and Beijiang rivers, Guangdong Province, China. Habitat: freshwater.
