Holotype: MCZ 54401. Paratypes: AMNH 38235 (?); MCZ 54402 (?); UF 29825 (25), UF [ex FSU, ex MCZ 54402] (?); UMMZ 204198 (25); USNM 220537 [ex MCZ 54402] (22). Type catalog: Parenti et al. 1999:13 [ref. 24072]. •Valid as Limia sulphurophila Rivas 1980 -- (Lee et al. 1983:42 [ref. 22527], Rodriguez 1997:671 [ref. 23266], Poeser 2003:136 [ref. 26783], Lucinda in Reis et al. 2003:564 [ref. 27061], Lucinda & Reis 2005:46 [ref. 29205], Meyer 2015:146 [ref. 34698], Rodriguez-Silva & Weaver 2020:1368 [ref. 37404], Spikes et al. 2021:4 [ref. 38830]). •Valid as Poecilia sulphurophila (Rivas 1980) -- (Parenti et al. 1999:13 [ref. 24072], Huber 2019:119 [ref. 36941]). Current status: Valid as Poecilia sulphurophila (Rivas 1980). Poeciliidae: Poeciliinae. Distribution: Central America/West Indies: Lake Enriquillo, southern Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic). Habitat: freshwater.
