O.] 1980:122, Fig. 16 [Bonner Zoologische Monographien No. 14; ref. 5526] Affluent of Rio Uaupés at Trovao, about 20 kilometers from mouth of Uaupés, 0°02'N, 67°26'W, Amazonas State, Brazil. Holotype: IRSNB 594. Paratypes: IRSNB 595 (47). Type catalog: Walschaerts 1987:30 [ref. 20755]. •Synonym of Apistogramma trifasciata (Eigenmann & Kennedy 1903) -- (Kullander in Reis et al. 2003:616 [ref. 27061]). •Valid as Apistogramma uaupesi Kullander 1980 -- (Römer 1994:11 [ref. 21306], Staeck 2003:113 [ref. 27488], Staeck 2017:207 [ref. 35639], see DoNascimiento et al. 2017:[27] [ref. 35679]). Current status: Valid as Apistogramma uaupesi Kullander 1980. Cichlidae: Cichlinae. Distribution: Uaupés River and nearby Negro River drainages, Orinoco and Amazon basins, Brazil, ? Colombia and Venezuela. Habitat: freshwater.
