Type catalog: Anderson 2018:39 [ref. 36146]. •Valid as Mirolabrichthys flavoguttatus (Katayama & Masuda 1980) -- (Katayama in Masuda et al. 1984:137 [ref. 6441]). •Valid as Pseudanthias flavoguttatus (Katayama & Masuda 1980) -- (Myers 1999:108 [ref. 23965], Nakabo 2000:707 [ref. 25086], Randall & Pyle 2001:34 [ref. 25690], Nakabo 2002:707 [ref. 26001], Allen & Adrim 2003:32 [ref. 26830], Randall et al. 2005:131 [ref. 28745], Allen & Erdmann 2012:294 [ref. 31980], Anderson 2018:39 [ref. 36146]). Current status: Valid as Pseudanthias flavoguttatus (Katayama & Masuda 1980). Serranidae: Anthiadinae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Christmas Island (Indian Ocean), Indonesia, Palau, Marshall Islands and to Japan. Habitat: marine.
