Paratypes: GCRL 15756 [ex SIO H50-28] (2); SIO H46-143 (2), H46-144 (1), H50-31 (1), 54-214 (2), 63-169 (32), 63-188 (1). •Valid as Syngnathus insulae Fritzsche 1980 -- (Dawson 1985:187 [ref. 6541], Nelson et al. 2004:112 [ref. 27807], Love et al. 2005:72 [ref. 37547], Kuiter 2009:254 [ref. 30404], Page et al. 2013:114 [ref. 32708], Hamilton et al. 2016:Supplement 3 [ref. 35615], Garcia et al. 2019:[3] 1001 [ref. 38915], Love et al. 2021:103 [ref. 39279]). Current status: Valid as Syngnathus insulae Fritzsche 1980. Syngnathidae: Syngnathinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Isla Guadalupe (Mexico) endemic. Habitat: marine.
