Holotype: LACM 38276-1. Paratypes: LACM 2754 (8), 38276-2 (20); UCR 28-3 (5), 30-9 (2), 899-2 (161 or 162), 900-2 (2), 945-10 (1), 949-3 (4), 953-11 (53), 956-1 (4), 960-2 (10), 964-4 (1); USNM 219778 (10). Type catalog: Angulo et al. 2015:372 [ref. 35212]. •Valid as Rivulus fuscolineatus Bussing 1980 -- (Bussing 1987:119 [ref. 22927], Huber 1992:205 [ref. 20639], Bussing 1998:171 [ref. 24179], Lazara 2001:275 [ref. 25711], Costa in Reis et al. 2003:536 [ref. 27061], Costa 2006:139 [ref. 28875] in subgenus Cynodonichthys). •Valid as Cynodonichthys fuscolineatus (Bussing 1980) -- (Costa 2011:242 [ref. 31655], Angulo et al. 2013:995 [ref. 33194], Angulo 2021:13 [ref. 38913]). Current status: Valid as Cynodonichthys fuscolineatus (Bussing 1980). Rivulidae: Rivulinae. Distribution: Central America: Atlantic slope (Costa Rica). Habitat: freshwater.
