J.] 1980:389, Fig. 4 [Records of the Western Australian Museum v. 8 (pt 3); ref. 8761] Karamonge Creek, tributary of Ok Tedi, Fly River system, 32 kilometers north-northeast of Ningerum, Papua New Guinea, about 5°26.6'S, 141°17.4'E. Holotype: USNM 217127. Paratypes: KFRS F.4214-02 (2). •Valid as Melanotaenia oktediensis Allen & Cross 1980 -- (Allen & Cross 1982:72 [ref. 6251], Allen 1991:92 [ref. 21090], Allen et al. 2008:93 [ref. 30265], Allen et al. 2015:103 [ref. 33750], Allen et al. 2016:4 [ref. 34164]). Current status: Valid as Melanotaenia oktediensis Allen & Cross 1980. Melanotaeniidae. Distribution: Upper Fly River system, Papua New Guinea. Habitat: freshwater.
