Holotype: MRAC 77-37-P-1. Paratypes: MRAC 77-37-P-2-8 (6); Berkenkamp coll. (1). •Synonym of Epiplatys fasciolatus (Günther 1866) -- (Wildekamp et al. 1986:251 [ref. 6198], Paugy et al. 1990:342 [ref. 26477], Romand in Lévêque et al. 1992:636 [ref. 21590]). •Synonym of Epiplatys fasciolatus (Günther 1866), but a valid subspecies -- (Wildekamp 1996:68 [ref. 23649], Seegers 1997:16 [ref. 23895]). •Synonym of Epiplatys fasciolatus (Günther 1866), subspecies fasciolatus (Günther 1866) -- (Lazara 2001:106 [ref. 25711], Etzel 2009:82 [ref. 30290]). •Valid as Epiplatys zimiensis Berkenkamp 1977 -- (Huber 2024:50 [ref. 41036]). Current status: Valid as Epiplatys zimiensis Berkenkamp 1977. Nothobranchiidae. Distribution: West Africa: southeastern Sierra Leone and northwestern Liberia. Habitat: freshwater.
