Holotype: WAM P.25383-001 (destroyed). Paratypes: AMNH 35636 (2). Type catalog: Hutchins & Smith 1991:22 [ref. 19335], Moore et al. 2008:24 [ref. 30117]. •Valid as Syncomistes kimberleyensis Vari 1978 -- (Paxton et al. 1989:536 [ref. 12442], Unmack 2001:1063 [ref. 25797], Hutchins 2001:31 [ref. 25847], Allen et al. 2002:237 [ref. 25930], Allen et al. 2006:1341 [ref. 29004], Morgan et al. 2011:17 [ref. 31262], Shelley et al. 2017:53 [ref. 35712]). Current status: Valid as Syncomistes kimberleyensis Vari 1978. Terapontidae. Distribution: Durack, Pentecost and Ord Rivers, eastern Kimberley region, Western Australia. Habitat: freshwater.
