Holotype (unique): BPBM 17934. •Valid as Macropharyngodon vivienae Randall 1978 -- (Randall 1986:699 [ref. 5706], Parenti & Randall 2000:30 [ref. 24943], Kuiter 2010:279 [ref. 35285], Fricke et al. 2018:288 [ref. 35805], Randall & Victor 2022:228 [ref. 39916]). Current status: Valid as Macropharyngodon vivienae Randall 1978. Labridae. Distribution: Southwestern Indian Ocean: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa) north to southern Mozambique, east to southern Madagascar. Habitat: marine.
