Current status: Valid as Epetriodus freddyi Cohen & Nielsen 1978. Ophidiidae: Neobythitinae. Distribution: South Africa, Mozambique and Madagascar east to Wallis and Futuna, north to southern Japan, south to western Australia and New Caledonia. Habitat: marine.
