M.] 1979:198, Figs. 1c-d [Copeia 1979 (no. 2); ref. 9006] Sequatchie River, 1.6 kilometers southeast of Ninemile, Bledsoe County, Tennessee, U.S.A., 35°39'N, 85°07'W. Holotype: INHS 77589. Paratypes: CUMV 22077 (3), 42120 (8); INHS 77007 (10); TU 33461 (1); UAIC 1677 (3), 2775 (9); UF 14633 (8), 15540 (10); UMMZ 168121 (93), 168142 (10). Type catalog: Bart & Taylor 1993:57 [ref. 20906], Sabaj et al. 1997:283 [ref. 23225]. •Valid as Etheostoma sequatchiense Burr 1979. •Synonym of Etheostoma blennius Gilbert & Swain 1887, but a valid subspecies -- (Scharpf 2008:22 [ref. 30399], Page & Burr 2011:547 [ref. 31215]). Current status: Synonym of Etheostoma blennius Gilbert & Swain 1887. Percidae: Etheostomatinae. Distribution: Sequatchie River drainage, Tennessee, U.S.A. [subspecies sequatchiense]. Habitat: freshwater.
