Couesius Jordan [D. S.] 1878:784 Masc. Leucosomus dissimilis Girard 1856. Type by original designation. Type stated as Leucosomus dissimilis Girard = Nocomis milneri Jordan; dissimilis regarded as type -- the only species Jordan recognized as valid with the original description of the genus. •Valid as Couesius Jordan 1878 -- (Robins et al. 1980:21 [ref. 7111], Simons & Mayden 1997:187 [ref. 24948], Gilbert 1998:16 [ref. 23395], Simons & Mayden 1998:313 [ref. 25587], Mecklenburg et al. 2002:141 [ref. 25968]). Current status: Valid as Couesius Jordan 1878. Leuciscidae: Plagopterinae.

Hemitremia Cope [E. D.] 1870:462 Fem. Hemitremia vittata Cope 1870. Type by monotypy. Species vittata preoccupied when placed in Leuciscus, renamed flammeus by Jordan. •Valid as Hemitremia Cope 1870 -- (Simons & Mayden 1997:187 [ref. 24948], Gilbert 1998:17 [ref. 23395]). Current status: Valid as Hemitremia Cope 1870. Leuciscidae: Plagopterinae.

Lepidomeda Cope [E. D.] 1874:131 [3] Fem. Lepidomeda vittata Cope 1874. Type by subsequent designation. On p. 3 of separate. Type designated by Jordan & Gilbert 1877:95 [ref. 4907]. •Valid as Lepidomeda Cope 1874 -- (Miller & Hubbs 1960:18 [ref. 11934], Simons & Mayden 1997:187 [ref. 24948], Gilbert 1998:17 [ref. 23395], Dowling et al. 2002:665 [ref. 26230], Minckley & Marsh 2009:146 [ref. 31114]).
