A petition to the ICZN probably is needed to continue the use of Eleotris Bloch & Schneider 1801, over the use of Scopoli 1777 (see Kottelat 2013:391 [ref. 32989] after a neotype designation and its use before 1961). •A senior synomym of Eleotris Bloch & Schneider 1801 -- (Kottelat 2013:390 [ref. 32989], Parenti 2021:34 [ref. 38603]).
