japonicum, Acropoma Günther [A.] 1859:250 [Catalogue of the fishes in the British Museum v. 1; ref. 1961] Japanese Sea. No types known. Based on Acropoma sp. of Temminck & Schlegel 1843:31 [ref. 4371] and Pl. 12 (figs. 2-3) in 1845 [ref. 4373].
