Apparently this names dates to Cocco 1846:749 [ref. 26444] with a description, but we regard this name as an overlooked one, and suggest continued usage of benoit Rüppell 1852 -- currently regarded as a synonym of Eretmophorus kleinenbergi Giglioli 1889. The name also appeared as "Pharopteryx benoiti, Rupp. (Gastronemus benoiti?
