Current status: Synonym of Centropomus ensiferus Poey 1860. Centropomidae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.

Holotype (unique): whereabouts unknown. Posthumous publication. Also appeared in Poey 2000:148 [ref. 26366] with figures in atlas. •Synonym of Centropomus ensiferus Poey 1860 -- (Rivas 1986:607 [ref. 5210], Figueiredo-Filho et al. 2021:323 [ref. 38206]).
