Holotype: MCZ 35380. •Synonym of Chaunax coloratus Garman 1899 -- (Le Danois 1979:8 [ref. 6972]). •Valid as Bathychaunax roseus (Barbour 1941) -- (Caruso 1989:156 [ref. 9287], Lindberg et al. 1997:227 [ref. 23547], Caruso 2003:1053 [ref. 27013], Moore et al. 2003:213 [ref. 27076]). •Valid as Chaunacops roseus (Barbour 1941) -- (Caruso et al. 2006:120 [ref. 28546], Ho & McGrouther 2015:950 [11] [ref. 33685], Quattrini et al. 2017:9 [ref. 35235], Carneiro et al. 2019:214 [ref. 37250]). Current status: Valid as Chaunacops roseus (Barbour 1941). Chaunacidae. Distribution: Northwestern Atlantic; northeastern Atlantic: Azores. Habitat: marine.
