Lectotype: MNHN 1971-0135. Dates to 1970 as above; also as a new species Dalophis boulengeri in Blache & Bauchot 1972:751 [ref. 304] where types are given; often wrongly dated to 1972. Blache & Bauchot 1972:751 [ref. 304] and Bauchot et al. 1993:104-105 [ref. 20810] treat a holotype, but a holotype was not established originally; that specimen technically established as lectotype in Eschmeyer 1998:258 [ref. 23416]. •Valid as Dalophis boulengeri (Blache, Cadenat & Stauch 1970) -- (Castle 1984:38 [ref. 6171], Leiby 1990:181 [ref. 13652], Bauchot in Lévêque et al. 1990:93 [ref. 21589], Vreven & De Vos 2007:181 [ref. 30015], Wirtz et al. 2007:6 [ref. 30263], Wirtz et al. 2007:25 [ref. 30263], McCosker 2016:1662 [ref. 34558], Reiner 2019:67 [ref. 38139], Fermon et al. 2022:117 [ref. 39448]).
