Syntypes: ZMB 2172 (1). •Valid as Gobiesox nigripinnis (Peters 1859) -- (Briggs 1955:104 [ref. 637], Cervigón 1991:201 [ref. 24472], McEachran 2003:1774 [ref. 27089], Smith-Vaniz & Jelks 2014:73 [ref. 33341], Conway et al. 2017:[9] [ref. 35287]). Current status: Valid as Gobiesox nigripinnis (Peters 1859). Gobiesocidae: Gobiesocinae. Distribution: Western Atlantic. Habitat: marine.
