On p. 509 of English translation. •Synonym of Lepidonotothen squamifrons (Günther 1880) -- (DeWitt et al. 1990:296 [ref. 21696]). •Synonym of Lepidonotothen squamifrons (Günther 1880), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Rembiszewski & Zielinski 1980:100 [ref. 23212], Miller 1993: [ref. 21297], Miya et al. 2016:393 [ref. 34143]). Current status: Synonym of Lepidonotothen squamifrons (Günther 1880). Nototheniidae: Nototheniinae. Habitat: marine.

Holotype (unique): BMNH 1936.8.26.452. •Valid as Lepidonotothen macrophthalma Norman 1937 -- (Miller 1993:165 [ref. 21297]). •Synonym of Lepidonotothen squamifrons (Günther 1880) -- (Schneppenheim et al. 1994:145 [ref. 22058], Eastman & Eakin 2000:13 [ref. 24631]). •Synonym of Lepidonotothen squamifrons (Günther 1880), but a valid subspecies -- (Pequeño 2000:89 [ref. 25224]).
