Neotype designated by Ludt et al. 2019:135 [ref. 36635]. •Valid as Cheilodactylus nigripes Richardson 1850 -- (Allen & Heemstra 1976:312 [ref. 7330], Paulin et al. 1989:203 [ref. 24556], Kuiter 1993:258 [ref. 23929], Gomon et al. 1994:647 [ref. 22532], Kuiter 1997:240 [ref. 25488], Hutchins 2001:267 [ref. 25841], Hutchins 2001:38 [ref. 25847], Allen et al. 2006:1357 [ref. 29094], Roberts & Gomon 2008:626 [ref. 30641], Roberts 2015:1353 [ref. 34193]). •Valid but should be excluded from Goniistius -- (Burridge & White 2000:443 [ref. 24553]). •Valid as Goniistius nigripes (Richardson 1850) -- (Kimura et al. 2018:69 [ref. 36401]). •Valid as Pseudogoniistius nigripes (Richardson 1850) -- (Ludt et al. 2019:135 [ref. 36635]). Current status: Valid as Pseudogoniistius nigripes (Richardson 1850). Latridae. Distribution: Southwestern Pacific: Australia (New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia) and occasionally New Zealand. Habitat: marine.

Also later as bizonarius. •Synonym of Cheilodactylus nigripes Richardson 1850 -- (Allen & Heemstra 1976:312 [ref. 7330], Gomon et al. 1994:648 [ref. 22532], Allen et al. 2006:1357 [ref. 29094]). •Synonym of Pseudogoniistius nigripes (Richardson 1850). Current status: Synonym of Pseudogoniistius nigripes (Richardson 1850). Latridae. Habitat: marine.
