Holotype: USNM 302842. Paratypes: USNM 302843 (5), 316124 (1), 340550 (1). •Valid as Rogadius fehlmanni Knapp 2012 -- (Knapp 2022:590 [ref. 39727]). Current status: Valid as Rogadius fehlmanni Knapp 2012. Platycephalidae. Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: Somalia. Habitat: marine.

Plus non-type material. •Valid as Rogadius mcgroutheri Imamura 2007 -- (Fricke et al. 2011:382 [ref. 31242]). Current status: Valid as Rogadius mcgroutheri Imamura 2007. Platycephalidae. Distribution: Eastern Australia and New Caledonia. Habitat: marine.

polyodon, Platycephalus Bleeker [P.] 1853:462 [Natuurkundig Tijdschrift voor Nederlandsch Indië v. 4 (no. 3); ref. 336] Jakarta, Java, Indonesia. Holotype (unique): RMNH 5992 (1 of 2). Type catalog: Blanc & Hureau 1968:45 [ref. 20738] with MNHN 4529 as holotype from Celebes, but Imamura & Amaoka 1996:97 [ref. 22119] suggest that RMNH 5992 contains the holotype. Originally as polijodon, with ij the Dutch equivalent to y; therefore changed to polyodon. •Synonym of Rogadius serratus (Cuvier 1829) -- (Imamura & Amaoka 1996:97 [ref. 22119], Imamura 1996:217 [ref. 22700], Imamura et al. 2006:297 [ref. 28670]). Current status: Synonym of Rogadius serratus (Cuvier 1829). Platycephalidae. Habitat: marine.
