Paratypes: ARC 8703371 (1), 8705134 (1); MCZ 64849 (6), 91580 (1), 99447 (4); USNM 291328-29 (1, 1), 326634 (3); VIMS 3073 (1), 4891 (2), 5511 (3), 5572 (6), 5581 (1), 9191 (6). The author states that there are 69 paratypes but that is incorrect. •Valid as Symphurus billykrietei Munroe 1998 -- (Moore et al. 2003:232 [ref. 27076], Munroe 2003:1941 [ref. 27118], Saavedra-Díaz et al. 2003:966 [ref. 28221], Nelson et al. 2004:182 [ref. 27807], McEachran & Fechhelm 2005:875 [ref. 28815], Page et al. 2013:188 [ref. 32708]). Current status: Valid as Symphurus billykrietei Munroe 1998. Cynoglossidae: Symphurinae. Distribution: Western North Atlantic. Habitat: marine.
