Lectotype selected by Eccles & Trewavas 1989:176 [ref. 13547]. •Valid as Stigmatochromis woodi (Regan 1922) -- (Eccles & Trewavas 1989:175 [ref. 13547], Maréchal 1991:464 [ref. 20944], Snoeks & Hanssens 2004:306 [ref. 28117], Stauffer et al. 2011:212 [ref. 31560], Konings 2016:347 [ref. 34521]). Current status: Valid as Stigmatochromis woodi (Regan 1922). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Malawi. Habitat: freshwater.
