Current status: Valid as Potamotrygon amazona Fontenelle & Carvalho 2017. Potamotrygonidae: Potamotrygoninae. Distribution: South America: Rio Jutaí drainage, upper Amazon basin (Amazonas, Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
