Paratypes: MUMF 3045/5 (5), 3047/1 (1), 3048/1 (1). •Questionably as synonym of Acantopsis spectabilis (Blyth 1860) -- (Kottelat 2012:22 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2013:177 [ref. 32989]). •Synonym of Acantopsis spectabilis (Blyth 1860) -- (Boyd et al. 2017:167 [ref. 35656]). •Valid as Acantopsis multistigmata Vishwanath & Laisram 2005 -- (Bleher 2018:292 [ref. 36647] as multistigmatus). Current status: Synonym of Acantopsis spectabilis (Blyth 1860). Cobitidae. Habitat: freshwater.

No types known. •Valid as Acantopsis spectabilis (Blyth 1860) -- (Kottelat 2012:22 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2013:177 [ref. 32989], Boyd et al. 2017:167 [ref. 35656], Boyd et al. 2018:[6] [ref. 36347], Shangningam & Kosygin 2022:60 [ref. 39587]). Current status: Valid as Acantopsis spectabilis (Blyth 1860). Cobitidae. Distribution: South Asia: Irrawaddy River, Ataran River, Salween River and Chindwin River basins (India, Myanmar and Thailand). Habitat: freshwater.
