Tetragonopterus (Aequidens) fasslii Steindachner 1915. Type by monotypy. Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Aequidens Eigenmann & Bray 1894 in fishes, replaced by Evenichthys Whitley 1935. "Misprint for Astyanax" written in separate at the California Academy of Sciences, and this plus style (see new subgenus Pseudepapterus) suggests that the name was in error and not intended as an original description. 1°Homonym. Current status: Synonym of Astyanax Baird & Girard 1854. Characidae: Stethaprioninae.
