Lectotype selected by Gilbert 1998:166 [ref. 23395]. •Synonym of Rhinichthys osculus (Girard 1856), but a valid subspecies yarrowi (Jordan & Evermann 1891) -- (Kaya et al. 1992 [ref. 19893], Gilbert 1998:166 [ref. 23395], Scharpf 2005:39 [ref. 28940], Minckley & Marsh 2009:162 [ref. 31114]). Current status: Synonym of Rhinichthys osculus (Girard 1856). Leuciscidae: Pogonichthyinae. Distribution: Colorado, Wyoming and Utah, U.S.A. [subspecies yarrowi]. Habitat: freshwater.
