milnensis, Carangoides Whitley [G. P.] 1949:29 [Proceedings of the Royal Zoological Society of New South Wales 1947-48; ref. 31005] Milne Bay, Eastern Division of Papua. Holotype: CSIROC 31. Paratype: whereabouts unknown. This species overlooked until found by W. White in Nov. 2010. Also appeared in Whitley [G. P.] 1949. "Fish Doctor" in Papua. The Australian Museum Magazine IX:340-347 with a figure [earliest not researched, Magazine was for 30 March 1949]. •Synonym of Alepes vari (Cuvier 1833) -- (pers. comm. W. White and W.
