Paratypes: (10 + 1) USNM 127951-54 (1, now 4, 1, 2); Gov't Peru [ex USNM 127952] (1). Two additional specimens (USNM 107069, USNM 119771) not regarded as types -- questionably referred to species. •Synonym of Alphestes immaculatus Breder 1936 -- (Heemstra & Randall 1993:21 [ref. 21042], Heemstra in Fischer et al. 1995:1578 [ref. 22830], Parenti & Randall 2020:50 [ref. 37354]). Current status: Synonym of Alphestes immaculatus Breder 1936. Epinephelidae. Habitat: marine.
